Founded in 1985, the University Career Women has grown to become an integral professional organization for women working at ASU and beyond. The early founders of UCW certainly achieved their vision of forming a group to provide for professional development and support needs of women. Over the years membership has broadened to include classified staff, faculty, and academic professionals as well as graduate students. It has also opened doors for women seeking to advance in their careers or those who just want to be more effective in their current positions. However, the focus still remains on the needs of non-faculty women.

University Career Women provides opportunities for professional and personal development and advances the status of, and improves the environment for, women at Arizona State University.

* Provide a mechanism for women to affect issues.
* Provide professional and personal development programs.
* Take an active role in improving the status of women.
* Create and inspire opportunities in a supportive and accepting environment.

Each year we hold professional development workshops, networking events and celebrations of women professionals.
All of these events complement our annual conference which takes us out of the work environment for a full day of refreshing, renewing and reinvigorating professional development workshops and keynotes.
